Staff name: Michelle Hollywood-Russell
Position: Treatment Clinic Coordinator
CDG Start Date: 10 years ago.
Secondary School: Beaulieu Convent
Nursing in 2007
Child and Family Studies from Leeds University in 2002. The course was wide-ranging and encompassed Psychology, Sociology and History of Childhood. I specifically focussed on ‘Special Needs’ and later worked in that area.
Lived off-island? If so where: When studying at Leeds I lived in Wakefield and Leeds. Then when I went travelling with Andy we travelled around lots of places; Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, The Cook Islands and Hawaii. We really fell in love with Hawaii on our trip and went back there for our honeymoon.
Partner/children: Andy is my husband and we’ve been together 13 years. We have 2 lovely boys, Harley who will be 5 in November and Reegan who will be 2 in October.
Have you had any dental treatment at the practice? If so, what? I have regular 3 monthly hygiene appointments to keep on top of things, with whichever hygienist is free as they are so busy! I also had a couple of my amalgam fillings removed by Caroline who replaced them with nice white fillings- no anaesthetic needed!
Favourite thing about working at CDG: I would have to say the friendly environment, it’s so nice to work here. It’s great to be part of a team who get along well. I like the banter and support we give each other.
Dental goals for the year: To use my tepee brushes every day without fail!
Favourite band: I’m a big lover of music but rock music in particular. Biffy Clyro and The Foo Fighters are up there as my faves. Our household is always full of music, we like it loud and dance a lot! The boys absolutely love dancing around the kitchen to all sorts of music. The Moana soundtrack is their favourite of recent times.
Interesting hobby: I used to play lots of tennis and I represented the island both at junior and senior level. I also took part in the island games a couple of times, but as I got older my interests changed, and I then went off to university.
Tennis aside, I like art and making things which we tend to do a lot with Harley. My idea of peace is good music and a colouring book I have an enchanted garden colouring book which is very intricate.
Do you live with anyone? I am outnumbered and live with 3 boys, Andy, Harley and Reegan
Strictly or the X Factor? I think Strictly. It’s usually pretty entertaining. I haven’t watched the X Factor for a very long time. I’m not really into those types of shows anymore though.
Perfect job? I’d love to create and sell arty things for living- making things is when I’m at my most peaceful and it’s what I enjoy doing most, short of watching live music for a living…
Favourite Parish: Probably St Brelade. It’s a place where Andy and I have spent lots of time. Andy proposed to me on the beach between Ouaisne and St Brelade. It’s the best beach on the island!
Desert Island Essential: sunscreen and water
Sweet or savoury? I’m partial to sweet and savoury. I do have a sweet tooth but it depends on my mood. Sticky toffee pudding, brownies or a good steak.
What’s your bedtime? No later than 10.30, 10 is the ideal.
Ever broken a bone? Nope, not yet and I hope it doesn’t happen.
Favourite film? ‘The Goonies’, it reminds me of childhood and friends, I love it!
Celebrity crush: I’ve always loved Brandon Flowers from the Killers- I’m a sucker for a lead singer who’s a bit quirky and charismatic.
Perfect Holiday: Somewhere in the sun, cocktails and a good pool. I like to relax and to get some shopping in too.
What word would people use to describe you? I had to ask my friends for advice on this one and this one came up.….kind!< Back to Meet the Team
